Dr. Binkley is a Limited License Psychologist at S.W. Zimostrad, Ph.D. and Associates. She completed her graduate training in clinical psychology at the Michigan School of Professional Psychology with an emphasis on neuropsychological testing and assessment and individual psychotherapy. She utilizes a cognitive behavioral approach with aspects of play therapy theory in her work with children and teens. She believes that therapy with this demographic often requires active participation and engagement, with the goal of understanding their stressors and anxieties through their play and one on one interaction. From a cognitive behavioral perspective, her goals are to help her client’s identify and use personal strengths to counter negative assumptions and thought patterns about themselves. A strength based approach to treatment allows her to focus on what a person can do as opposed to what they have been told they can not. Dr. Binkley is a member of the American Psychological Association, and she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling to new cities. She enjoys watching sports and is a big fan of college football. She also enjoys backpacking and has participated in a triathlon.
